This is a village rugby club website, and it should work for everyone in the village. Here is what has been done, what is known to be imperfect, and how to tell us if something gets in your way.

What has been done

• Every piece of text on the site has been checked against its background and meets the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast standard.
• The whole site can be used with a keyboard alone. Links and buttons show a clear amber focus ring, and the photograph viewer traps focus while it is open and returns it when you close it.
• A "Skip to content" link is the first thing a keyboard or screen reader reaches.
• Headings run in order, so a screen reader can navigate the page by structure rather than by guesswork.
• Photographs carry descriptions. Decorative marks — the wasps, the badge watermark — are hidden from screen readers rather than announced as meaningless images.
• If your device is set to reduce motion, every animation on the site stops: no drifting, no reveals, no smooth scrolling.
• Text is sized in relative units and reflows, so it can be enlarged in the browser without anything being cut off.
• The map is not loaded until you ask for it, so nothing loads behind your back.

Known limitations

• The historical photographs are scans of a book from 1985. They are not sharp, and enlarging them only goes so far. Their captions carry the names, which is the part that matters most.
• Some archive captions are long lists of names. On the cards they are shortened to four lines; opening the photograph shows the full list.
• The map, once you load it, is Google's and we do not control its accessibility. The club's address is written out in plain text beside it for that reason.
